Kit Sales

I have had a request to provide Sales figures by build components. I have looked through the Kit and BOM set up. Do I need to have the MFG module to complete this set up?

I so far have been able to get the Kit/BOM up but have stopped as the Sales Order seems to require a work order.

Is there a way to by pass this requirement as we have an inventory/mfg system we currently do not integrate with.

Hi JB

Using kits does not mean you have to have manufacturing fully configured. Only when the linetype on the sales order is set to 'W' (or more correctly when the 'generate work order' flag is ticked in the line type constants) is a work order required/generated.

In order to report by component you only need to look in the sales files (F4211 and F42119). Kit components can easily be identified by looking at the related kit fields (RLIT, KTLN)
