We are a new install of E1/8.11 on an iseries 400. Peoplesoft did our install and setup our Job Scheduler. Unfortunately the scheduler has never worked and were stuck. I have attached the joblog below, have an open call with Oracle but they haven't been able to help. If you have any ideas at all, please let us know. Thank-You.
p.s. we know the password is VALID, unlike the error below

E1 8.11, OS/400 V5R2

Just a thought but is does user PSFT have a OS/400 user profile set up?

The errors regarding the Security checks should not be ingored. If security is failing then kernels are starting correctly. Scheduler has it's own kernel. I think you have issues other than the scheduler.

Is this user associated with the environment in question? Are you talking about the E1 scheduler or the OS/400 job scheduler?

Thank-You for your replies. We use user PSFT like users use JDE on "xe" and earlier version of OneWorld. There is no E1 security on user PSFT. I have not actually checked OS/400. Being new to the scheduler is there a "hook" between the E1 scheduler and OS/400 other than the UBE just runs on the 400? When we receive this error we are successfully signed into E1 (PY811) user PSFT and our technical issue is with the E1 job scheduler (P91300). Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Thank-You.

Can you run the same UBE locally? If you are submitting it as PSFT to the server, it will look to see if security server is on (check the AS/400's INI under the [SECURITY] section). Next, check out what proxy ID you are passing for PSFT. You might have PSFT setup correctly on both instances - but passing the ID of JDE.

8.10 (not sure about 8.11) runs the UBE through the UBE Kernel and creates a temp folder (and the 4 required links) in the IFS under the environment/specfile directory. Does PUBLIC have permission there as well.

Just a few places to look - Kristian

Hi,

I am also facing with the same problem in E1 8.11 om AS400 V5R3.
The same error is coming :-
"Security Server returned error: eSecInvalidPassword: Invalid Password"
My proxy user is PSFT and jde.ini is also correct.
The password for PSFT is same in all the plase as below:-
Security Server
E1 System USer
E1 User
AS400 User

Still I ma getting the same error.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

Regards
Pramod

Can you lgin from your Deployment server with the User PSFT ? i.e. from any machine where there is no entry in the ini for security server

Thanks for your reply. I can log in from the Deployment server in PSFTPLAN and DV811 without security server in ini file.

Just a small observation ... in ur logs i can see that ur trying to schedule it for PY .. and as per ur earlier reply u said that u were able to login from plan and DV.

Have u checked Port Test with user PSFT for PY ?

Hello,

1. Have the queues made been specified to be as AS400 type?
2. Can you submit the same job manually?

If the prob is solved, it wud be great if you can share ur solution.

Freddy

I just got done migrating over Xe schedules. I'm getting the same error message on the AS400 V5R3. The jobs will submit manually. I tried the PSFT user and also another user in the scheduler settings. Double and triple checked the password. I can log on with both users.

Once the errors appear in the log, the user account gets disabled. Keep us posted, thanks.

Grant.

Do you have more than one foundation by chance? Is it possible that your scheduler is still pointing to an old foundation port?

Strange, testing this morning (12/5/05) versus last Friday 12/2/05 and now they are working.

I changed the system user on the userid in the scheduled application to PSFT from JDE. The system was also rebooted on Saturday morning.

Errors appear in the log though. PDF report looks good though. Jobs updated to Successfull.
