Just wanted to let you know of a little issue with Server Manager after upgrading from V5R4 to V6R1 on the iSeries/AS400.

We upgraded our Production box this weekend from V5R4 to V6R1. After we did this, we got the same issue as we did in our test LPAR environment with Server Manager.

Server Manager prior to the upgrade had one instance for the Enterprise Server WITH the domain in it. Server Manager now shows TWO managed instances for the Enterprise Server, one WITH the domain and one without. The one with the domain is not working though and has a red next to it and everything underneath it. The one without the domain (the new one) is working and showing green.

We modified the .XML file to correct the issue by removing the instance with the domain in the E:\jde_home\targets\home\management-console.xml file on the Deployment Server.

We had opened a case with Oracle but they were unable to determine the cause and accepted modifying the .XML file as a solution.

Just a note to mention that this is not just AS/400. I've seen it on other platforms as well.

E1: SVM: Server showing up twice under Managed Home Location. [ID 838307.1]

I don't particularly like their solution of adding an entry to the hosts file but it works.
