Financial UBE Issue

Hi All,

Let's see if you guys can help me with this one...

I have a Financial Report (Columns and Rows)... I want to edit the Calculations on one of the columns. I open the calculations area, sum RV_1 through RV_7 and all is good. When I add RV_8 (or RV_9, RV_10 or any others)... RDA just goes away.

The Event Rules do validate.
The view is over F0006, F0901 and F0902.
All the RV fields are numeric
There are NO errors in the JDE.LOG
There are NO errors in the JDEDEBUG.LOG

A similar issues happens on one of the row calculations. If I double-click on the row-calc, RDA goes away... I don't even get to look at the calcs.

Thoughts????

When you say the RDA "just goes away", what exactly do you mean? In any case, from what I remember (it's been some time since I've done financial reports with a lot of customizations at both the columnar and row level) there's a limit to the amount of columns and rows you can have within the financial report design aid......

good luck....

Kavehm,

When I stated that RDA goes away - ... here's what happens. I click
on the Column or the Calculation field and RDA ends (no messages, no
errors, no blue screen of death - it just went away).

Thus far, here's what I've discovered.

The fields being summed in the calculation were all very descriptive
(like twenty characters +). I change the field/column names to be very
short, click on the calc (which opens the Expression Manager) - and
now things work. It appears that there is a limitation to the number
of characters in Expression Manager - that causes the issue. It's not
the number of calcs, rather the length of the expression in
characters.

Also - if anyone is familiar with FASTR to OW Conversions... is there
a chance I can call ya? I need a little help understanding the
conversion process...

Thanks!

Hi
Are you trying this through the 'columns' tab in RDA or the main Report view tab. Trying to edit through the Column tab always causes RDA to fall over. I always edit calcs through the Report Tab.
You can edit other info via the Column tab just not the Calculations

In agreement - Yes, editing through the columns tab.

It appears that there is a limit to the size of the expression -
within Expression Mangler. I shortened the field names to a few
characters - the was able to sum all the columns.

Thoughts?
