E913 w/ Oracle11G DB - Search is case sensitive

We are migrating from MSSQL to the Oracle 11G db. Previously when doing a search/find in JDE, the text field was not case sensitive, now many (not all) of them are.

Is this just because of the database or is there a setting somewhere to turn this off?

It is the database and with just a few exceptions all JDE text fields are case sensitive when searching

Yes it can be changed, but no it is not recommended in the majority of cases. You can end up with the result of a disastrous reduction in performance. So, you really need to be mindful of that distinct possibility and thoroughly test in another non-production database, if you decide against this advice and move forward with it anyway.

Thanks all for the input. While it is annoying, especially after being on a system for so long that this was not an issue, it will cause a little heart ache for awhile. But like all things, people will adapt.
