E1Pages - using other java functions

Hi,

I want to use a button on an E1Page to start a process external to JDE.

The documentation on E1Pages say you can "execute any arbitrary javascript" including "anything else doable in javascript". If this statement is true I should be able to achieve what I'm after.

Has anyone used this functionality and if so can you provide details and a code example? This would be greatly appreciated.
