Configurator and multiple branch plants

Hi All, I am in the process of implementing the Configurator (currently using a test data base) and was wondering - Through the configurator can the sales order be entered from one branch plant - and the product be built in another branch? We have several off site branch plants where sales orders are entered, but the product is only built in one branch.(all of our products are built in the same branch plant & all of our sales orders are entered from the other branches - no sales order -currently- is ever entered from the mfg branch) :p

:p I discovered the problem - Constants were never established for the branches other than the mfg branch in the configurator.

In XE, you can't use ST/OT with the configurator, but you can make the configurator to create work orders on several branches (use confirated items with multiple levels), then you can use the top level work order as an receipt confirmation, and the low level work orders as the true work orders.

There is a whole new set of functionality and enhancements in EO8.9 which include interbranch configurator. I don't remember the details but it is worth checking the net change docs of you are interested in where this is going.....

Hi.

we implemented a funcionality to use configurator with several branches and companys.

we used P inclusion rules with a direct ship line to get the purchase of the configured component.

then we develop a set of reports to prepare the purchase order.
1. create the lot to be received
2. asociate the csid
3. fill in the purchase order the lot and the configured text

then in a second report we prepare the files for the store and forward sales order (for the selling branch).
1. create the F4211 duplicating form the component line of the original sales order and adapting the adress numbers, mcu and dates.
2. create the F4201 from the F4211 recently created.
3. create the F3294Z form the F32945
4. create the F0041Z1 (control file)

we use a diferent series of Purchase and sell orders (only for this process), and we create the Sales order with the same number from the purchase order to mantain trazability.

In XE is the best solution if you need to invoice.

is strongly encoraged to upgrade to 8.9 at least to get full multi branch functionality. (you can insert a componet that is driven by and ST / OT). and you can combine ST / OT with W line types.
