Col Exited & Changed - Inline does not work for visual assit in 8.12

I'm using 8.12 on Windows 2003. The event "Col Exited & Changed - Inline" does not fire off when I used a visual assist for it. But this event will fire off when I typed in manually. Does anyone experience the same thing and have any idea on how to fix it? Thanks

I used to experience this in Xe, but in 9.0, which should be the same TR as 8.12, I have seen the opposite, when I change an FC via the visual assist the Col Exited & Changed - Inline does fire. In other words, it is working as I expected. I have seen though where this event doesn't properly fire under certain conditions when the system function to set a focus on a specific control is used.

so what did you end up doing to rectify the situation where the control Exited and change-Inline didnt execute when the focus was set on a specific control?
