Changing Social Security Number

Hey all,

We have come across an issue during our most recent conversion. We have an employee who's SSN was incorrect for a period of time - three months. Now we need to find documentation that tells the process for changing the SSN in the JDE system.I have looked in the help files w/in JDE, and on the knowledge garden. I wasn't able to find anything, so I was wondering if any of you had come across this and knows what the process is, and how it updates the tax history tables. Thanks.

Jeremy,
You can change the SSN without any impact to the DB.
SSN's are not replicated throughout the DB as non US
or Canadian employees may not have a tax ID. The
payroll tables use the employee number to track and
store data. The only time an incorrect SSN is crucial
is when filing year end reports with the IRS and SSA.
If there is not a complete match, you will be required
to refile the information.

Jeremy,

You go into the address book via employee information and change the tax id to the appropriate SSN and click ok. This should bring up a pop window (P06SSN) to confirm the change. Click OK. This program will then change all the applicable files.

I would test this in a test environment first because in my demo jr it does not work but should. I check knowledge and there are no reported issues with this program.

I hope this helps.

Thank you sir. That seems to have done the trick. I will tuck this one away for future reference.
