Change Inventory Cost level

Hi,
we need change de Inventory Cost Level from 2- Item/Branch to Company.
Can any of you tell me the implications of converting Inventory Cost level and how to convert to company because we have two differents companys.
We are EO 8.12 TR 8.97.1.2

Hi,

The Inventory Cost Level can be set to 3 different settings. Reading your post, I think that you consider to move the setting from Level 2 tot Level 1.

Level 1, though is not a Company level, but an item master level. This implies that the cost for the item has to be the same for all companies.

If you maintain different costprices in different companies, standard E1 wil have to be cost level 2. Where indeed for each branch within a company the same price has to be defined.

The business question is then, do you want to eliminate item cost maintenance and should the focus be on synchroning cost-prices for all companies, or are different costprices required for the business and should the focus then be directed to facilitating maintenance.
