Catch Weight

We have a special problem so called Catch Weight:
How to handle a product in two independent Units of Measure?
We have to maintain inventory transactions and actual inventory both in KG-s and Each-s, for example for live animals or other products, where there is no conversion between two UOM-s. These items have to be handled through logistics and manufacturing applications. One of these UOM-s used for costing purposes (KG), and the other have to maintained in quantity only.

Hi Zoltan,

We have product with SF-s (square foot) and Each-s also. Items are lot controlled. We are using Lot Number and SF for all transactions. It is easy to make reports based on F4108, F41021, F4111 and F4211 tables for inventory maintenance in Each-s (usually just a counting number of records).

Hope this helps.

Bojan.
