Advanced Pricing

I need to set an advance price calculation based on a price that is different than the base price set in JD Edwards.

We enter or upload the price from a separate system. I have no problem calculating the accrual transaction when the base price matches the uploaded price. The problem occurs when we change the base price.

If I modify the price in the order the adjustment doesn't calculate. If I run the check price it changes the price and calculates adjustment based on the base price.

Can I set the accrual method 4 using calc method 2 (% of net price) to calculate on a manually adjusted price?

Is there another option in Advanced pricing to provide the adjustment?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John B.

Sounds like you want to override the base price and still have a type 4
adjustment be calculated based on that price override. Yes, you can do
this. Setup the first adjustment to be your base price, and have it be
setup to override the base price, and set the manual add/change flag to
yes.

When you enter a sales order take the exit to the Price History and override
the price in that window. You will see
that all other adjustments are kept and calculated correctly.

However, if users enter a price manually directly in the F4211, all other
adjustments are lost.

Email back if you need to know more.

Did you try variable table method. You can chance the price (net) in
variable table and calculate the accrual using add on variable amount.

John,

What you can do is:
upload this special price into the costprice file, with a special cost type (larger than 20) and use this as the basis for your advanced pricing adjustment

Re: RE: Advanced Pricing

I have set up the cost information as you have suggested. The calculation works and brings it across but only if the base price is not over ridden. Can you tell me how I can change the price customer pays for product and allow the adjustment to be calculated. If I change the price the %of cost adjustment doesn't get computed or carried through the process?

If you can clarify if I have missed something?

Re: RE: Advanced Pricing

Hi John -

Do you have your adjustment schedule set up like this?

10 Price Exception set to override price
20 Accrual Adjustment set to not override price

Do you have anything below the accrual that is set to override price? Do
you have the Accrual Adjustment details set to a 2 for % of Net price?

thanks, Bobby

Re: RE: RE: Advanced Pricing

Thanks All for your advice and assistance. I now have the Advanced pricing working with the processes we need!!

John,

If you change the Unit Price in the detail grid of Order Entry - NO Advanced
Pricing will be performed.

To change a price and still perform advanced pricing you need to use the
Price History exit on Sales Order Entry and either change an existing
adjustment or insert a new adjustment to calculate your new price.

If you are uploading from an external source put the Unit Price in another
field on the Order Line in your "Z" file (i.e. User Amount) and put a Price
Adjustment that uses a Formula in your Schedule to pick up the User amount
field (i.e. &SDURAT * 0.01)

Hope this helps.
