One caution to the second part of that tip, if you assign yourself a lower level of security, make sure you have another CNC id to change yourself back.
Usually, assigning yourself the role will be sufficient, but if there is a menu item in that role that the user doesn't have, they won't see it. That's why you need a combo of security and role.
As a practice, whenever we create a security role (we have hundreds) we also create a "dummy ID" that is not assigned to a user. That "dummy id" allows us to test the menu and security. We keep the ID and Password the same and set the password to never expire. As a naming convention, we name the ID very similarly to the name of the group. To close off the inherent security gap, we add in an environment override to limit that ID to just PY7333.
