Quite often, when a lot has been assigned to a sales order, the available quantity has not been reduced in inventory. This allows us to over-commit lots. When we run the Repost Active Sales Orders (R42995), it straightens out the available quantity but we shouldn't need to run this so often.
In our business, each container is a separate lot. We bring in about 1500 lots each week. For the most part a lot/container is assigned to one order/shipment. This makes it very important that we only assign a lot once and that the available quantity is current.
I've checked the knowledge garden and haven't found any clues on this. Has anyone run into this? Solutions?
