Vertex Tax - Prepayment \'Invalid Address Num.\'

Found a couple of SARs on the KG
3187376 and 3190760

They describe my problem exactly, but there's no fix. Have any of you fellow
trench diggers run across this? How did you fix it?

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:
When entering prepayment sales orders and exiting to P004201
OW is generating a hard error'Invalid Adress Number' which
prevents entering any prepayment information to the form.
.
SET-UP:
1. In Cust Master (P03013) set payment instrument to a
prepayment type (?,.,!) for a customer.
2. In SOE, activate procoption for prepayments and enter
a prepayment sales order.
3. Take form exit to P004201, and note the error 'Invalid
Address Number', #007P generated from N0100042 (Cust. Mst
MBF)
4. Enter related information for prepay and click ok. Note
that nothing happens. Click cancel and return to the
sales order and click Ok.
5. In P004201, note that a record is written to the prepay
file, but only contains data loaded from the SO cache.
