Installation OneWorld Xe

Hi

I am Abdul Majid Khan, new in the list. I need a help, I need to know the
proper installtion of
OneWorld Xe. We have Windows 2000 Advance Server, SQL Server 2000, Visual
Studio 6, OneWorld XE
Update 2, Service Pack 17.1, Arabic language Cd.

Please some one help me the proper installation oneWorld Xe on
Deployment Server
Enterprise Server
Citrix Server.

Please Correct me if I am wrong

What I understand is, the sequence should be

Installation Of Windows 2000 Server on Deployment, Enterprise, and Citrix

Server

Install latest Service Packs for Windows 2000 and security Updates

Users JDE with Administrator privilege created on all servers

Set the FTP server on Deployment and Enterprise servers

Install Visual C ++ on deployment and Enterprise servers

Install MDAC 2.6 on deployment server, which is the prerequisite of VC ++

service pack for the compatibility of SQL Server 2000.

Install Service pack 5 or latest of VC ++ on both Enterprise server and on

deployment server

Installed Acrobat 5.0 on Deployment server.

Installed SQL Server 2000 (all options) on Enterprise server.

Installed “JD Edwards One world Xe Deployment Server software (CD 1/2)”

on the deployment server.

Run the environmental checker on Enterprise server only.

Add printer on deployment and enterprise servers

Install “JD Edwards OneWorld Xe installation and upgrade Documentation” from

CD (on deployment server only)

Install second CD of deployment server (CD 2/2 on deployment Server).

Install Client Tool of SQL Server on Deployment Server.

' Important (is this the right time to install Arabic CD now, or should be

before that or later any time

Install Arabic Language Pack on Deployment Server using Language Arabic CD.

Installed OneWorld Databases on Enterprise Server

Create a “Custom installation plan"

Run the Workbench

Install the Enterprise Server using CD labeled “Enterprise Server CD 1/1)”

on Enterprise Sever

Install a Workstation

Install Packages

Install Service Packs (16 then 17.1) (We have this only)

wellcome to the LIST. Looks like you did your homework.

To save a some extra work you could install your SP before installing any
WS.

Everything looks right on target to me. Your timing for Language Install
is correct.

Hi Abdul,
why do you install FTP Server? You don't need it.
With Acrobat 5 we have had a lot of problems. The problem were on True Type Font. We solved them reinstalling Acrobat 4
