Good Day JDELIST,

Has anyone installed ERP 8.0 on intel with SQL2000. Can you share any issue you encountered. Also I am also wondering if the base come with SP19.1 or 20.

Thank you for your help in advance.

CNC,

I just completed an ERP 8 install on SQL2000. Beside the known issue of
Machines failing on the Installation plan validation (you must manually set
status to 30), the install went fairly smoothe. You may want to check for a
more recent copy of the installtion guide, as the one that was shipped was
missing some good sized chuncks of information for creating the plan.

Also, the base Service Pack is 19 and 19.1 was shipped with it. I used 19.1
instead of 20 since 20 is so new, and I have not heard enough about it yet.

Andy,

Thank you for the valiable information.
I shall take your suggestion and install SP19.1

By the way, the installation manual I printed out is dated Jul, 2002.

I used the same guide. The section that I had a problem with was with
Creating a Typical Installation Plan. The guided missed about 5 or so
screens. If you are doing an upgrade or you are not going to peform a
typical install, this should not be an issue.

Users,

I just completed an ERP 8 install on iSeries at V5R1 with Citrix server =
included.

The LODRUN now loads Data Dict, etc as well as Central Objects (total of =
6 CDs) so the upfront CD load piece is much longer. Now it restores =
from CD to a series of SAVFs in one library which are then restored to =
many other libraries.

The install library is OWINSTALL and can be deleted after completion. =
Must still keep JDEOW

My ONEWORLD ID did not properly prompt for correct Port when it runs the =
initial program (QGPL/BV3C) at signon. I don't believe the B7334SYS is =
in the library list either. Must manually add. The STRNET, etc does =
not work except from JDEOW/A98OWMNU even after ADDLIBLE.

The OW subsystem out of the box that runs the STRNET is B7334SYS. The =
ERP base is Xe with Update 6 included and base service pack at =
foundation 19. Once you load SP 19.1 the STRNET starts JDEB7334 =
subsystem as you would expect.

A new Jobq is created JDENET in B7334SYS where the CLEANUP job runs. No =
longer runs in QBATCH or QB7333 (QB7334)

If running V5R1, the CAE SP downgrades the CAE driver (CWBODBC.DLL) and =
will not allow certain UBEs (i.e. R92TAM) to run local as well as other =
funky things. The driver will show 8.00.3.0 and should be 8.00.4.8

Default groups in P0092 are all missing the *Group setting. We don't =
use the default groups anyway but a heads up.

No longer allowed to add user without a group in P0092.

On the View User Options -Change Password - No repeating passwords in OW =
and No passwords shorter that 5 characters but can't find where this is =
defined. Not sure if this is based on setting from OS in domain or =
Enterprise server.

Andy, how long did it take you to complete the installation?
Do you know if Update 6 incorporated into ERP 8.0
