Running E1 8.12 8.98.3.3. iSeries app and batch server. JAS servers running Server 2008 R2 and Websphere 6.1. We have a handful of users who are getting a pop up message 'Your session has expired. If your browser does not refresh, please refresh to log in'. The message is appearing while they are actively working, not while idle. We have verified all timeout setting in the various .ini files. We are leaning toward a browser setting, but don't know which one. It is happening on IE8 and IE7. Anyone seen this before?

Unfortunately, I see it quite often. It is a browser setting. You have to go to the Internet Options of IE, click on the Privacy tab, and hit the Advanced button. From there, click on "Override Automatic Cookie Handling" and turn on "Always allow session cookie."

The details are on Oracle Doc ID 641320.1 (here).

If this error only appears in IE, probably that your problems in web browse, otherwise verify your kernel recycling configuration, I was having this situation, the kernel recycling, needed recycling COK, and his no free el kernel recycling forced logout.

For resolved, is necessary change values in JDE.INI (BE CAREFUL, don't change other values)

[RECYCLING]
krnlRecycleTimeOfDay=04:00 (Hour to lauch the recycling)
krnlRecycleElapsedTime=
inactiveUserTimeout=6:00 (Quantity of time that don't be use the COK for recycling)
timeToForcedExit= (Time after the last attemp. After this time, Kernel Recyclig force logout all user that use this cok, it's causes that only some user affect, and not all system users).
