Hi List,

Wanted to know how you'll manage to print JDE reports from WTS clients in remote locations.

My requirement is such that my WTS users should be able to print to a local printer in their location. I have accomplished this thru WTS Printer redirection, but I find this to be very slow. Have any of you'll faced similar problems. Is there any other way I can print to a local printer from my WTS client

Any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance

You have to "map" the local printer and be sure that the printer driver is
installed in the Server. I would suggest you to look for generic drivers
and install it in both location, Server and fatclient.

Do you have your network printers defined on your AS400? If so, just add the printers in OW. Then the users could select the printer from the OW apps.

Thanks for all ur replies

Those of you'll who are not using any thrid party softwares, how do you'll find the speed of the pritning. Beacuse I find that in my setup it takes very long to print even a single page.

I also found a link on microsoft which says that this kind of printing is normaly slow

So I wanted to know , how you'll find the the performance at your end

When u say how many clients use the line u mean JDE clients..or how many companies are using that leased line

Well the line is used only by my client. They use the line for thier normal e-mail and internet requirements and also for their EBiz application. They have about 5 JDE WTS clients

Sounds to me as if the problem is the size of your pipe (network that is) for everthing that you are asking of it.
