Versions and Packages

Long time reader, first time poster bla bla bla..............

I need some clarification please.

If I promote a project of versions with just data selection changes do I need to build a package? The versions are not new to the promotion environment.

In order to let your people work with the new data selection you do need to build at least an update package to get these changes to your fat clients and terminal servers as well as to your enterprise server (or where your ube's might run).

In case of interactive versions, you do not need to build the packages at all. But in case of batch versions if you change data selection then you need to build the package( Not required if you change the processing options as processing options are stored in the database and are not part of spec files).
