as always, an excellent response, thanks Jon. You mention below you had (or
were aware of) a customer who wanted to migrate to Solaris/Oracle since they
perceived higher scalability architecture through the Unix environment (more
than 4,000 users). Perceived is kind of what I "keyed" in on. Are you
familiar enough with iseries 400 to know if a "maxed out" (you know..24
cpu's..lot's of ram..fast controller's/dasd (lot's of it) etc....) system
could scale to > 2,300 users (perhaps even 4,000 users) in a "virtual
3-tier" architecture..ie.. no separate servers for apps and/or UBE's?
