OneWorld Uptime metrics

Is anyone out there measuring OneWorld uptime statistics.

I'd like to measure "application availabiblity" rather than system
availability (where system availability is a measurement of the uptime of the
hardware/os platform). I'd much rather measure the availability to login and
process in OneWorld. For example, when I have the Enterprise Server Subsystem
down but the AS/400 still up, that would be considered down time because no
one could log into JDE even though the AS/400 is still up and running.

I'm also looking to collect statistics on the front end which in this case is
a published OneWorld application on a Citrix Farm.

I've thought of trying to use Interoperability to call a function on the
enterprise server that returns a timestamp at timed intervals or something
like that with VB or VBScript.

Also thought about just testing for the availability of tcp port 6009 on the
enterprise server with a port scanner and uploading the logs into a database
to derive uptime numbers.

Does anyone have a working solution up and running?

You could just wait about 4-6 months for the new improved SAW, which
should handle all of the requests you just mentioned, as it will have the
capability to monitor the box itself as well as the application...it
looks pretty slick as JDE has finally put a lot of effort into giving out
an extremely useful monitoring tool.

We track our uptime and provide charts along with detail information to
management. If you would like to know more about what we do contact me.
