WebSphere 6 vs. WebSphere 5

Hi List,

We would like to implement EO8.10 with WebSphere on iSeries-i5 platform. Could anyone tell me which version of WebSphere is recommended now? In the past we implemented the same with WebSphere 5, it works fine. Should I try to implement with WebSphere 6? Is there a document available about versions and releases?

It comes from Oracle E810 MTRs.

WAS6 will be supported 2Q 2006.

I went to a WAS6 class at IBM and think that 6 is everything that 5 was supposed to be.

Zoltan,

If this is a new purchase, you might want to advise your customer to impliment using Oracle's web engine. From the way they were talking about Fusion this and Fusion that at Quest, dropping dough on Websphere would not be a good long term investment..... Just my $.02 worth.
