Use of Version Table

What is use of Version Table in JDE OneWorld. What information it contains.

Hi,

A "version" is the mechanism implemented by JDE to
execute the same program (either batch "UBE" or interactive
"APPL") with different parameters ("Processing Options"),
data selection and sequencing.
Invoice Printing would be a typical batch, Processing
Options would be something like "Draft or Final" = "D",
"Number of Copies"=3, etc... and data selection would
be something like InvoiceNum=123456 (this is just
a crude example).
Version information is stored on xx812.f983051
