Update vs. ERP 8.0

I'm looking for some advice. We are currently on OneWorld Xe, SP 17.1, base
code (without any update). Is it better to apply the latest Update (I know I
should stay away from Update 6 for a while) or upgrade the system to ERP 8.0?
Which approach would be less disruptive or better for the long run? Is ERP 8.0
the same as J.D. Edwards 5?

Tet,

ERP 8 is the previously discussed Xe Version 2. It
includes all the fixes for Xe update 5 plus database
changes and additional functionality over Xe. ERP 8
is a non co-existent version of OneWorld. As to
whether item in update 6 are available for ERP 8,
contact response line or your account exec. They
should have the information.
