Table Conversion

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Data Conversion, Data Copy and Data Copy with Table Input? They all seem to do the same work.? Can you elaborate with some example?

From the Data Conversion Director (the table conversion wizard):

Data Conversion consists of a single input table, business view or file and one or more output tables or files. Data from records in the input is inserted into records in the outputs(s) through mappings defined by you.
Examples: importing data, exporting data, normalizing tables, de-normalizing tables.

Data Copy consists of one or more tables which are copied exactly from one environment or data source to another environment or data source. You can specialize copy actions through event rules, processing options and report interconnect. Data Copy allows you to import copy table scripts.
Examples: copying single table, copying a group of tables, converting a copy table script to a table conversion.

Data Copy with table Input is similar to Data Copy except that it also allows information for the process to come from an input table. The input table may provide information about which tables should be copied, how they should be copied, where they should be copied, and so on.
Examples: using an iput Table that contains a list of tables to be copied, copying a group of tables to more than one environment or data source based on an input table.

Please don't copy & paste content form oracle documents. this is copied form oracle documents. if you know, then try to explain with classic example. whatever the content you did copy, paste form oracle documents, every one know this. please don't do like this next time.
