Our company does not do much with barcoding other than slap labels on our
product. We are not currently setup to interface with the barcodes in any
fashion. Today, we store our UPC codes in a separate offline database from
JDE. We are wondering if anyone in either the World or One World
environments has found a small package to get the UPC codes stored in JDE
and generate new ones as new items are created. We are not looking for a
full-blown barcoding package, just a mechanism to generate new UPC codes,
and store it and maintain it in JDE so that we do not have to maintain two
systems. We've looked at products like DCLink and ERPBridge, but they are
overkill for our limited needs. We use the TLAshford software for printing
our barcodes.
