[SEVERE] - [TE] Could\'t Create Static Link

We have been getting numerous logs with the following errors in different applications. It states the obvious "You do not have permissions..." however what is "[TE]"? It does not give a username.

Re: [SEVERE] - [TE] Could\'t Create Static Link

If you'll notice, on the first line is the application name: P12502, which I believe is Item Manager. This is one form of the Work Center, and it is quite possible that you have taken away the right to run this application in your Security Workbench (type 3), or not remembered to grant it back if you follow that security model.

Re: [SEVERE] - [TE] Could\'t Create Static Link

This happens in many different applications. Do you by chance know what [TE] is. It's not a user; no username displays on these errors. Thanks for your help.

Re: [SEVERE] - [TE] Could\'t Create Static Link

I'm not completely sure, but I believe it stands for Task Explorer. Whenever you have an HTML client session, you have the menu on the left side. You don't say what version you are in, but by default, there is a "permanent" link near the bottom of the menu that says "Work with ItemManager."

Since this would redraw every time you browser gets a new screen, and if you are secured out of the Item Manager application, then it would not be able to create the link in the menu, and spit out that error every time the menu is redrawn.

The solution remains the same, all users should be allowed to access P12502 in Security Workbench. Alternatively, if the users are allowed into WorkCenter, P12503, you can change the link to "Work with WorkCenter" by altering the JAS.INI file to include the setting "WorkCenter=WorkCenter" under [OWWEB].
