Sales & Use Tax and Payroll Tax Software

We are currently using JD Edwards World A7.3 cum.9. We are wondering if there are any organizations using software for sales and use taxes and/or payroll taxes besides Quantam Vertex. We are trying to understand what alternatives exist and what people's experiences have been with these systems.
