Sales and Use Tax

We are implementing OneWorld XE and are interested in finding alternatives to Quantum Vertex for Sales & Use Tax table maintenance, reporting, etc. Is anyone using something that they would or would not recommend?

Could you expand on why you are looking for an alternative to Vertex?

I would advise you to find something and find it quickly.

As per our company policy, part of our cost justification process is to look at alternatives.

I've worked with JDE's sales order module for 12 years and am not aware of
any alternatives to Vertex. Perhaps that's because
I've been working with Energy and Chemical companies exclusively for the
last 6 years.

I assume that you are doing % sales taxes and not per unit taxes as is
common with Bulk product. (Vertex does not handle per unit taxes.) The
only caution I would have is that you look at cost/benefit--if you only sell
into a few tax jurisdictions then Vertex is overkill. If you sell all over
the US, and need to track taxes at hundreds of jurisdictions, then its a
good solution.

I've seen a reference to Taxware (www.taxware.com) on the Midrange (AS400) list. Haven't even looked at their website, though.
