Related Address #\'s - How are you using them?

I'd like to ask what kinds of applications you all have found for the related address numbers in the AB. We're already using the Parent-Child relationship and the Factor/Special Payee. So I'm not asking about those.

I'm looking at the Related Address #'s 1-5 and wondering how they are used. Are any of them reserved for JDE use?
We are currently creating some reporting by Sales Person and I've been asked to use a UDC to identify sales people and types of accounts. Is it a reasonable usage to assign a sales employee's AB # into one of the related address #'s? I like the idea because it will require a valid AB# without any additional programming and the related address numbers are on the F0101 for reporting.

Does JDE have some other field to assign a sales person to an account? (We currently use CMC1 as a Team Code and CMC2 is enered during Sales Entry)

David,

Why not use the Salesperson fields in the Customer Master? You can get
quite creative with how the Salesperson is driven into the order through the
Sales Commission Preference, or just use the Customer Master to default it
in.

The main uses of the Related Addresses are:
1. Tie Ship to addresses back to a common Sold to, so that the user only has
to enter the Ship to address in Sales Order Entry.
2. Rebates use one of these addresses for the rebate beneficiary.
3. Parent
4. Alternate Payee

Also, if you are doing salesperson reporting, you might consider using the
subledger capability in Sales Update to book the salesperson number to the
G/L. Then you can get your reporting out of the G/L.

Re: Related Address #\'s - How are you using them?

Hi David - I have used these address for a bunch of different things
including a regional office that is different than the parent or sometimes a
group responsible for shipping. As far as your sales person.. you may use
the SLSM field in the F03012 or F0301 (depending on OW or World)... this is
used to track the salesperson based on the sales... just an idea. thanks,
Bobby-+

I'm looking now for the SLSM field in F03012 - I don't see it in either B7332 or Xe??? Are you sure about the alias and the files?

The salesperson fields sound perfect but I can't find them. You aren't talking about the commission fields CMC1 & CMC2, are you?
Please enlighten...

RE: RE: Related Address #\'s - How are you using them?

CMC1 is Commission Code 1
CMR1 is Commission Rate 1
CMC2 is Commission Code2
CMR2 is Commission Rate 2

CMC1 and CMC2 are address book fields for SalesPerson 1 and SalesPerson 2.
With additional setup you can even put an address book number in that
represents a group of salespeople

All fields are on the Billing Instructions 2 tab in the Customer Master.

You can use the rate fields to hold commission percentages and the results
are written to the F42005 during Sales Update. There is a bit more setup to
do in the Commission/Royalty Constants file to get this to work.

Or you can use Advanced Pricing to calculate a commission accrual and use
the F4074 for your Commission tracking.

If you can't figure it out, I can send you a copy of a detailed White Paper
I have on Commission Tracking in Sales Order Management.
