Hi Husni -

I am very familiar with your problem. For the Meter Reading Issue - I =
always create a custom screen that makes both inquiry and new entry very =
easy for the users. It's pretty easy to create and has been well =
received by my clients. If you want the details on it, contact me =
directly. [email protected]

Subject: Plant & Equipment Maintenance

Hi List,We are still in the PEM implementation stage. I found two =
weird things in the PEM module. 1. Meter Reading entry program - =
First thing, it is =
not at all user friendly. Each time the OK button is pressed; the =
program exists and creates a new batch number. Has anyone got a better =
way to enter the meter readings? We will have around 200 meter reading =
entries per day. 2. F0902 GL balance file - For each work order, it =
creates a record in F0902 file with the work order as a sub ledger, =
making it to grow on a daily basis. We will have around 50 to 100 work =
orders per day (both production and maintenance). Is there any =
alternative to this? Thanks,
Husni

Re: Plant & Equipment Maintenance

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for your response. Can you please pass me some details regarding custom meter reading entries. It seems pretty simple, but still I would like see your approach. In fact, we are also reviewing the possibility of using an offline scanner to capture the reading and upload them to OneWorld.

Regarding the F0902 GL balance file, do you know why the WO number is written as a sub ledger in the F0911 and F0902 files. I don't see any good reason to have the WO order number as a sub ledger. Ideally, it should have been the equipment number, so that all the transaction related to a piece of equipment can be traced easily from the G/L side.
I don't see the order number is written as a sub ledger in the other modules such as purchasing and sales etc.

Is there any setting to avoid writing the WO number as a sub ledger.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience.

Re: Plant & Equipment Maintenance

I think the idea is to track costs for work order by using WO # as subledger. If you need to track costs associated with Preventive and/or corrective maintenance for some or all Equipment, then you should populate Equipment number on a work order. This way system can track costs not only by work orders but also by equipment/Assets.
