RE: can media object(in same attachment) record lines assigned to

A media object attachment is a single entity. Therefore, you won't be able
to get the different lines in the attachment appear in different columns on
your report.

The only way to do something with the details within a text attachment is to
parse it yourself. I did this a previous company, so no longer have the
details available to me. The added benefit is that you can get the text from
multiple text attachments. I'm pretty sure I relied heavily on jdelist for
that project, so you can probably find most of the information about what
tables you need to hit by doing searches on this forum.

Subject: can media object(in same attachment) record lines assigned to
different variable?

Dear all,
1) i use system function media object GT51006 to show the text line in the
attachment in the report.
may i know if with this function can make different line record appear as
column in report?

for example in attachment i input 2 lines
20/01/2003
09/10/1992

and i want to show each line in attachment in different column in report by
assigning each line in attachment to different variable in report.
20/01/2003 09/10/1992

2)why i did a debug of this media object function but i cannot see the
detail steps?

3)why with only single variable in report the media object function can
populate according the number of lines in the attachment?

thanks
ekben
