Is it possible to define the top level menu by user. Like we used to do it in Xe in the user profile. I would like to do this in e1 ( 810 sp8.94). Please let me know if its possible.

Welcome to the wonderful world of SolutionExplorer. No, SolutionExplorer and the web version of Solution Explorer does not allow you to set a top "OW-Style" menu. Do a search on my user name and Solution Explorer on this site. In a previous post, I attached a whitepaper on converting OW Explorer to Solution Explorer. That should answer some of your questions.

The top level menu is 8.10 is by role. The menus are now tasks and
are driven by roles. For each user there are a set of role/s defined.
When the user log in, the system checks the F95921 to check the users
roles and then goes to the F9000's series of tables to define the task
view.
