Kit Processing in Warehouse

We are a 3 PL industry. We receive certain products as a Kit. The Kit has three items in it. All the three items need to be Putaway in the warehouse using WMS. The system needs to suggest only one Location for all these three items. Which is not happening.
Can somebody throw some light on this.

You need to receive the entire kit as one unit. If you don't have the kit defined in inventory, you need tot do that. Then,set up the putaway rules to put away the kit first then the individual parts.

Thank you Mike for replying.
We tried this process also. But during receiving and putaway process the system shows only the child items in different lines and not the parent item. Is there any setup for this . pls throw some light on this. thank you

Are you ordering them as kits or individual units to be kitted later?

Hi Mike, We are ordering this as an individual item. But when they are kept in the location it is kept as an unit. Most of the times they are sold as a sigle unit.But still the invoice will have three separate lines.

When you receive them in purchasing, receive them as a kit unit, not as separate items. You may want to discuss his with your supplier to see if they can invoice them as a kit unit.
