F0311A "AS OF" File Question

F0311A \"AS OF\" File Question

Our AR Dept are currently running the "As Of" generation to create the F0311A at the monthend, but prior to that they are running various reports from the F0311 directly.

Am I correct in my assumption that the F0311A is created from the current F0311 by dropping all transactions and allocations after the As Of Date? Therefore if I took a copy of the F0311 at monthend and ran the As Of a week later using the Monthend Date, the F0311A should reflect the same data as in the copy I took?

If so, we should be able to much simplify our monthend process.
I looked at the World documentation, but it doesn't really say very much.

Tony,

As long as transactions are not back dated, then yes, running the
AS OF a week later with the month end date would give you the same data
as the copy at month end. The question to ask accounting is when do
they close Accounts Receivable for the prior month? If they wait a day
or two or three, it can be easy to get transactions back dated to the
prior month, and then the AS OF report will NOT match the

Great - thanks John, that pretty much answers that.
Only question I then have is for our AR Dept, since in theory ALL reports ought to run off the AS OF file to be correct...
