External datasource to 11i database

An external database which we access in JDE through a datasource is being upgraded to 11i from 8.7.2

I cant remember if there was any change had to be done in the datasource.

If I recollect properly the library name had to be changed to ORAOCI90.DLL for Oracle 9i database.

Does something similar have to be done for accessing 11i also?

Would like to ammend the post. The database is migrating to 9i. The external database is for Oracle Apps and it is being migrated to 11i.

So, my question becomes, Do I need to do a service pack upgrade even to access external databases. Please note that my JDE databases still stay at 8.7.0.2 version.

I am assuming that by mentioning the 9i dll name in the datasource, I should be able to access the external database (through a Table conversion).

Any help would be appreciated.
