Deliver To address and Shipment Number

We entered a new sales order and it pulled the deliver to address from the customer set. After saving the sales order, the deliver to address was populated on each sales order detail line correctly. Each line had the same shipment number as we expected.

Later, we modified the sales order by changing the deliver to address on some of the lines (not all of them). This is the only field that we changed. Upon saving the changes, we found that it did not update the shipment number. Since the bill of lading, packing slip, and other labels are printed based on the shipment number, this is going to cause an issue for getting the product delivered to the correct location.

Has anyone run into this? I'm not sure if we have something set up incorrectly or if it's an Oracle issue.

Hi Kelly,

Once you create a shipment you should handle all shipment changes on the shipment detail and not the sales order. If you create a new manual shipment to the different address, you can then move the sales order lines from the other shipment to the new shipment.
