How many others (World users) have been contacted to sign "attachment O" ,
the OneWorld attachment ammending their contract with JDE in regards to OW
software?

I did and plan on signing even though we have no plans in the foreseeable
future of going to OW, but just in case and it would be one less fee to
concern ourselves with.
I would like to point out some poor wording in the letter though that I just
found out this morning. Where it states 'Don't miss this opportunity to
waive the technology fee and take advantage of OneWorld Xe's advanced
collaboration tools, three-in-one user interface, and configurable,
Web-based portal'.
I interpreted that statement to mean that the XPI and Portal were included
NC if you signed the attachment.
Interpretation per our Installed Clients Manager is 'In Dave's letter, he is
just stating some of the benefits of moving to OW. But the XPI & Portal you
have to license. The attachment you are signing just gives you the ability
to move to OW for no charge.'

I believe (and am trying to verify) that our original contract included the
OW software at no charge, so this amendment is unneccesary. It may be by
singing this, we will restrict ourselves somehow. If we already
contractually have the rights to the OW software, there can be no possible
good by signing this that I can see.

The letter sent from Dave Siebert states 'Your current license agreement
entitles you to WorldSoftware only. In past years, J D Edwards has allowed
migration to OneWorld at not additional charge. In early 2002, this policy
was changed so that a technology fee is now required to go from a
WorldSoftware license to OneWorld Xe.' So it there was a time when it was
no charge but now there is.

Our CFO also received this letter, and is going ga-ga over it. He thinks that from this letter JDE is re-starting its attempts to wean World users off that product and into One World. Not yet sure how we will proceed.

JDE information with those modules you currently own.
If you have any questions, contact your account
executive and have them send you the ammendment
showing the applications in World that you licensed.
If there are discrepancies, contact you account
executive and resolve the differences.
