There are many ways to accomplish this.
1. You could use CPYSPLF to copy the contents to a database file.
2. If you only require it on a PC platform then you could associate your
remote printer with the Generic Text printer and you will be prompted to
enter a new file name.
3. You could look at using a third party tool such SPLTOOL from Bradley V.
Stone, It can convert spool files to txt, pdf or rtf formats. Its very
affordable and you can demo before buying it to make sure it does what you
need .

I have been given the task to configure jd edwards so that I can grab a
text file JUST before it goes to the printer with the proper formating to
be captured into papervision and stored rather than printing it and then
scanning it. Has anyone else attempted to redirect a printout to a file
before printing it?
