Hi Friends,

We want to implemenent APS(Advanced Planning).I want to know whether there any major changes required to be done to the existing setup especially in the item master, work center, routings etc because since APS will take some time to implement & we cannot delay our implementing the existing system. So if we decide to go ahead with the normal planning & then shift to APS are there any problems.

Has anyone implemented APS especially in Discrete manufacturing industry.?How helpful it is ?

Regards & thanks in advance

Sachin

Hi Sachin,
We have the experience of implementing the Numetrix tools and especialy PS (Production Scheduling) linked to JDE One World. The first think you have to know is that there is no link between the two products (except marketing links ...). These means that you will have to develop the interfaces (up and down) you need beetween the APS you want to use and One World. Now in order to give answer to your question, you have to known that is better to build the APS project as soon as possible because APS will use the technical datas of One World. For example if you want to switch the product of an item on different lines, you will have to define the corresponding datas in One World.
Nevertheless the APS implementation can be done after the JDE implementation but my opinion is that it is a bit difficult to work with the One World Product management alone knowing that it as no capacity limit.
