Business Function Library

Legendary Poster
I apologize if this is a repost, but I couldn't see that the JDEList
received the original....

OK, you all know that I am learning... We all are learning - and I like the
excuse.... Gurus - help where you can... suggestions always welcome.

I am installing a business function library for an Optika/Acorde

I have everything working (with the excellent help of Toni)... and I need to
have our CNC folk build a package. Within the Development environment - we
have done a busbuild and everything went fine. I checked in everything but
the BL - It gave me a funny error....

But, of course, I don't know much about BLs or OMW and how they work within
the development cycle. When I click on the BL object in my OMW project, I
get the error message, "Error: Error code does not exist." I have looked
at the logs - and they don't tell me much more.

If someone can point me to a good reference, I'd appreciate that - also!

As always... thanks in advance!

UPDATE: - this does appear, to me, to be an OMW issue. But, we lack some
precious OMW skills here - and I am willing to try 'almost' any suggestion.

Gee, no BL Gurus out there...

General issue: I have a project with a Business Function Library. If I
attempt to promote the project with the BL, I get the message, "Error:
General Error in method, Status Change".

If I move the BL out of the project, it will promote just fine...

Any suggestions? I believe this is an OMW issue...

I have gotten something similar to this before as well. I checked out the
object, and then checked it back in and it transferred properly. From
speaking with JDE, they stated it was an issue with the system and if it is
not flagged as being modified (checked in) it will not transfer. They also
stated that 'at times' if the system determines that the project it is being
transferred in was not the project it was modified in, will also cause it to
fail and again checkout-checkin of the object then changes the project
associated with it to the one you are currently working.

OK, here is the skinny for the Business Function Library objects.

Once you create a BL object, you can remove it (NOT DELETE) from your OMW
Project. Use the Right arrow at the bottom of your center bar in OMW to
remove the object from your project.

Basically, creating the object puts a record in the F9860 table... and that
record is the only reference necessary... BLs are not editable objects. If
you need to modify it (spelt something incorrect like I do), you will need
to delete and recreate.

Once I removed the object from the project we were off and running (thank
you Whitney! @ JDE Support).

Re: RE: Business Function Library

Hi Daniel,

Glad to read that you figured out the solution yourself without any help of "BL Gurus" :) As I see there was a week between your original post and your final solution. Supposly everybody were on holiday like me.
Now I just want to confirm your method. I have made the same play about some month ago and worked also for me.
