Autopilot

JDElisters,

We have just purchased the Autopilot/Solution Modeler package. From the responses I have seen in the past many of you don't have it but are curious, so I thought I'd let you know how it works out.

We are just about to begin an upgrade to Xe and will be using it for the upgrade. I hear it didn't work very well for B733.2 but supposedly they made quite a few changes for Xe. I did see a demo once from our global JDE rep and was pretty impressed.

I'll keep you posted.

Autopilot actually works now in B7332 (we are on SP13.3). I does crash mo=
re often than OneWorld. I use it for testing, performance, documentation =
and debugging.

There is a two-day class in Dever (taught by Susanne), an exceptionally g=
ood one.

JUSTIN:

Does your version of Autopilot have a "RECORD" function (kind of like the Excel / Word macro recorders)? We looked at Autopilot a long time ago and found that writing the scripts was about 10 times as difficult as just having the right people run thru the process. Please let us know.

As far as a "record" function for Autopilot, I believe that it now has that capability, although I won't be able to verify that until we actually receive the software. I do remember hearing about it not being able to record and asked our sales rep a few months back. He had said that it can now record. I really hope so, because it won't be nearly as useful without us being able to save and reuse scripts.

As far as the cost, I can't remember how much it was exactly. It was purchased globally for our company so we didn't pay for it. I think maybe it was 20,000 US but don't quote me on that.
