auto complete

Does anyone know if there is a location in an .ini file or user profile that turns "auto complete" on or off? We have one user complaining because "auto complete" does not work for her. (I know something small to complain about, but I need to get her off my back)

Any direction to look will be appreciated. Thank you.

There is an option in the user profile application (P0092). Select the
user, and then the option is under the 'preferences' pull down. It is a
toggle on/off called 'type ahead'. There will be a check mark next to it
when it is on.

I received a personnel reply to try the user options/type ahead. I tried that and it didn't work.

More info:

It works when signed into a fat client, but does not work when signed in through citrix. I tested that.

From Knowledge Garden Document OTI-01-0017:

In User Profiles, select User and use the Preferences pull down and select
or deselect the Type Ahead option.

Jeremy,

This may be related to your JDE.INI setting on the citrix box. This issue
has been discussed recently on the Forum and its
resolution included in the One World® / XE Tips and Traps forum, see JDE.INI
additions/changes [Post#: 25305 ] Enjoy:

To disable type ahead by default at first start up

[INTERACTIVE RUNTIME]
PWndLocation=66,66,666,477,1376257

From J.D. Edwards OneWorld: A Developer's Guide (Appendix F:)

PWndLocation:

The First four values define the location of OneWorld Explorer on the
client's
screen. The fifth value controls whether the exit bar and type-ahead is
enabled.
The valid values for the fifth value are as follows : 1114113, for disabling
the
exit bar and type-ahead; 65537, for disable the exit bar and enabling the
type-ahead features; 1376257, for enabling the exit bar and disabling
type-ahead
features; and 327681, for enabling the exit bar and type-ahead features.

Thank you. If I use the right terminology I might be able to search the
list faster.

That being said. I did try clicking on the user options, preferences, type
ahead and got no result. I've looked at mine, and do not see a check mark
next to it. Se la ve. It works now b/c I put the number code into the ini
file.

Thanks for the JDE terminology lesson. I will store this one for future
remembrance.

Is there any functionality in Chrome that is similar to Auto Complete? I've read about the E1 Tools feature, Auto Suggest.
