Hello List,
Currently, our Central Objects database resides on an NT/SQLSVR machine. Our Versions, System, Server Map and all other enterprise server components reside on an AS/400. This 'split' decision to separate Central Objects was made prior to V4R4 and the support for Binary Large Objects on the 400.
We are now looking towards consolidating this by moving our Central Objects back onto the AS/400 and off of NT/SQLSVR.
Our management is concerned that this change will inordinately elongate package build times near to 24 hours for a single full package build as this was their experience prior to placing Central Objects on NT/SQLSVR. Build times for full packages have been significantly reduced since then. I suspect that the longer build times were the result of other underlying configuration issues that have since been addressed. My iSeries experience suggests that there should be minimal change in build or execution times across platforms with no noticeable change
And so....we turn to the JDEList community - hoping to ensure that we've not missed anything. So.....List...would you please advise us on this? Your help will be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help, Beta.
