Vertex

I am having a problem with Vertex and JDE. When using the address book function key to populate geocodes for Cranberry Township, PA 15108 I get a code that is invalid. I have worked with JDE and Vertex for over a week with nothing really resolved.

The problem lies in the interface. Vertex has 2 records for this township, one for payroll (auth code 5) and one for sales tax (auth code 3). Address book doesn't care about the auth code and just pulls the first match it finds.
My resolution was to delete all auth code 5 records (we don't use JDE payroll and never will). Which would work until you got to Moon township - no 3 records exists. In this case Vertex can't find it and JDE can.
Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do. By the way you won't know your geocode is wrong unless you hit againist with another application or happen to inquire on it.

Any suggestions would help at this point. Thanks - A7.3 Cum 12

JD Edwards has offered to help Vertex resolve this, but they have stated
that it is a Vertex problem and there is nothing JD Edwards can do to help
resolve this. The problem exists only for a small number of townships which
for whatever reason have a different GEO code for Payroll and Sales even
though the township only has one zip code.
Apparently the Auth code is not validated at Vertex. Therefore when Sales
goes after the GEO code, Vertex goes and retrieves the first GEO code it
finds, without looking at the Auth code and in this case returns the Payroll
GEO code for the Sales application. So please continue to work with Vertex
to resolve this.
