AS400 Enterprise with which Webserver

We are looking at where to house our JAS Server. We already ruled out
putting Websphere on our Enterprise Server (AS400 Model 720) because
response times were too slow. Initial testing on a separate Win2000 box
was much better. Now, the question, is anyone using a separate AS400 to
house the JAS? How is performace? We threw around the idea of low end
model 270 running the JAS instead of a Win2000 box.
