Users are prompted for user name and password

Dear All

We are preparing an upgrade of JDE from 7332 to XE on the new hardware. I'm doing a fresh installation of JDE7332 on the new hardware. After the installation, I tried to log in using one of the user accounts created by installation, I'm prompted for database user name and password. If I type in 'jde','jde' for it, I can get through or if I create a corresponding user name and password in SQL7.0 database, then everything is fine. I also tried to create a new user name and password in JDE instead of using the testing ones from the installation, that problem happens too when I try to log on using that account. I guess I missed some user mappings somewhere but couldn't figure it out. Could anyone who knows please help?

Thank you

Bryce

Bryce,
you probably have forgotton to turn on security on your WS. Set
SecurityServer=YOUR-ES in the WS's JDE.INI file.

Thanks, Gerd

Check Jde.ini of ES whether the security server tab has been set properly

Bryce, If you are installing on desktops make sure that you have the SQL
server ODBC driver loaded.

Thanks,
