R98CRTGL

Hi,
When running the R98CRTGL on a workstation that utilizes an
AS/400 as the enterprise server the workstation receives
errors that indicate the following tables are being read
through a ODBC Data Source that is marked Translate, and it
should be marked as Do Not Translate.
F98BLOB, F986110, F986113, F98720, F98740, F98741, F98743,
F98744, F98745, F98750, F98751, F98752, F98753, F98760,
F98761, F98762

This issue was supposed to be fixed with JD14766 which was first included in Update-6. We are on Update-7 and still having the above problem. Upd-7 reports shows successful install of B98CRTGL.

I attempted to install JD14766 but it skips above object because it realizes it is not newer I believe.

I am able to follow the workaround solution (temporary OCM map etc)but it is very time consuming. I would like to fix this if someone has any ideas please. Thanks for your input.

Co-existing XE with Update-7, SP22M, WPS4.2.1.

Hi,

I just change the odbc for:

business data - prod
system b7333

and uncheck translation.

Re: RE: R98CRTGL

That is what I had been doing but since you need to change those back to the way they were it is time consuming. I ended up using "Force Merge" and re-apply JD14766 and that fixed the problem. Thank you for your reply.

Re: RE: R98CRTGL

Soyer, any ideas why you had to do the "forced merge"? ...I'm just curious.

TIA

Re: RE: R98CRTGL

Because,

ESU 14766 was supposed to be included in Update-6 which we had applied (Upd-7). This being the case the date & time stamp of the object (B98CRTGL) on the system was equal to or grater than what was in the ESU (meaning I have a newer object no need to merge/replace). Unfortunately I have no idea why the existing object wouldn't work properly (the merge report from Upd-7 shows it merged OK).
