Hand it over! Don't even argue with them! Think about it man - no more
weekend deployments for you. Just build the package and tell em when it's
ready. Try to pass off the fat client installs as well!

Seriously, I know it's hard to loose that control you have, but OneWorld is
just another application running on Citrix. Let them do the work on it. We
are in much the same situation here where our IT operations group handles
the Citrix machines. Our OneWorld team still have to do the installs when we
build packages but I would gladly hand it over to them if I could get them
to accept that function. If they are going to be so hard nosed about it, I
would suggest a service level agreement of some sort so that you still
maintain some sort of control.

Bill,
Listen to Marty. I'm the local CNC here and the only time I get desktop access on Citrix is when I specifically request it for trouble shooting purposes. No more locked sessions to release, no more weekend installs, even worked with the NT guys to automate weekend installs and they put it into Windows Scheduler. By the way, did you know that you can type explorer in the Fast Path and guess what will launch? Give it a try...

Bill responded directly to me with this:
Charles, thank you for the response. I get msg 'Launch Failed: Invalid object name - EXPLORER' on JDE.log when I keyed EXPLORER on the fast path. How do I activate that command? Also, what are the setup requirements for an automatic package deployment on the Windows Scheduler? Appreciate any help. Thanks again. -Bill

My Response: your NT people may have truly locked down access to windows explorer. Try typing command in the fast path and the explorer in the DOS window... maybe they have not restricted you from the command prompt.

I have attached the automated bat file. I originally got this off of the list, but I don't remember who posted it originally... I apologize in advance to the author of the bat file.

C:\winnt\explorer.exe works if you type on the internet address space in solution explorer. This also works c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe
